lyrics

That. That was my worst day ever. I think a normal person would have been crushed. I really liked Prince. I stopped listening to him, mostly. But—I remember when I was working in Philadelphia—I'd listen to him for inspiration. That time I threw my cowboy hat at that homeless guy... Other stuff too... My first concert... We used to play Purple Rain until Dave got sick of it. “Ever since you started listening to Prince,” he said. “You think you are Prince.” Wrong! I thought I was the next Prince. That was also the day I lost my job. I had been saying I wanted to leave for a while, then they gave me a reason to. I went to work, I was ready to tell everybody what happened to Prince.. and they... they asked for my key and told me to leave. I worked there for 4 years. What was their reason? They said they were afraid for me. I was sick. They meant they were afraid of me. They said if I wanted to come back to work I'd have to.... talk to their doctors. Now let me ask you this, if they were really worried about me, why would they give me a reason for them to be worried? And. And on the day I was supposed to talk about Prince. That was the worst day of my life. But, it's okay. Now I am dedicating my life to being Prince. I'm going to New York. Where all the critics love you.
