My life is not lemonade Will my worry lines fade away? Or am I down in a hole with the snake biting? Am I down in a hole with the snake biting No harm will come, you’ll be safe No bees will sting in your parade Am I down for the fancy brigade? Am I down for the whole in this hole I made? The Damage Has Been Done LOL My life is not lemonade My money’s on being being saved Am I down for the count or just counting wrong? Am I down for the count of just counting wrong?

Baby doll I brought it all coloring books and gin! If you can, we’ll pretend we’re 17 again Focused on signs, when i should have been focusing on you If you look up, you can see all the same stars that i do! Here i am I close my eyes, i am my father’s son I know you’re there, a deck of cards, a frozen root beer, and a gun Tell your dad, he shot a look, i’m almost 21! Everything i want Everything at once Everything i touch turns to dust… Babydoll I’ll tell you what, let’s not broadcast this again That one time you said you’re sick of my stupid band You kicked me out - of the house on - new year’s eve and then We got soaked, we ran aground and then we got even… Here i am It’s 1996 again An awkward laugh, knee high socks, a date in wilimington Tell your mom, just like my dad, i’ll be journeyman Everything i want Everything at once Everything i touch turns to dust… Babydoll, my big mistake, was introducing you to my friends It took you off your starry perch and made you one of them You took a bus from trolley square to philadelphia When you got back from france you changed, You said you’d had enough Here we are On nights like this, he thinks of you the most You moved on, and said he should too You moved off the east coast Don’t try to write, on second thought aren’t you married now? No reunion at the ramada inn but i still love you, child Everything i want Everything at once Everything i touch turns to dust

The flowers are still there growing out of the Earth in the field where I rest Like they were when I was just a boy I saw here gathering fireflies early in the evening One by one How can you say I was alone with the sound of the humming of the life all around me I followed the path made in the dirt to the end of the trail and just kept going By the lake The golden light of twilight just over the trees I was in the pasture of life The fruit falling overrippened, a town for the innocent The nights of summer’s past It was green and gold and perfect I was a wild cat, resting under an outcropping of rock A silent stone statue A ferryboat drifting on the Mississippi That moment when the night and the day are one The smell of the honeysuckle A falling star There’s a moment when you realize where you fit in expanse Where for a fleeting moment it all makes sense When gravity and time are just concepts and the legends of old blossom in front of you And you become the story When I’m alone my mind retreats to the meadow and the girl and mossy earth under my head Clutching and laughing Knowing that the wild owes us nothing Shelter from the cold Water roaring over the rocks When time stands still A place for you and I to run free, in our heads where the obligations we build fight for purchase The sounds of the lake echo across the green, and the first star of the evening fades into exisitence, You are the star It was the year that I became aware of how deep the water is and that there is life teeming just below the surface of everyone The melancholy of dusk is happiness to others How can you blame them for hiding there? Thirsty for silence In our heads ring so many things, our gentle creation, of the fire we built when the dark brought with it the evening and the howlin, fire and blistering cold Objects colliding with no regard for one another in our heads and in the sky Of bone and fire The last blue moon of our youth when we believed in fairy tales Some say we still do The details differ but the plot remains the same Can we create the magic of the moment or do we wait for another perfect night like tonight? I can see your shadow

Why do I keep going? I need crawl before I can stand I have to fall before I can land Why do I keep going? Clocking time to pay the rent But, when I’m done I don’t have a cent Why do I keep doing this? I gave my life so you could fly I give my life, I give my time Is there any reason Is there any magic left Was there any magic to begin with Even though I gave it a shot I never really gave it all that I’ve got Even though I gave it a shot I never really felt it. I never really felt it. Why do I keep doing this? One door will slam, and the house collapsed I’ve had a gift to keep under wraps Why do I keep going? When clearly I don’t have the will I lined them up to never make the kill I had a chance, but I’m too old I had a hand, but chose to fold I had to laugh or I would cry I never told you Just How much that you meant to me I always thought I’d have another chance Even though I gave it a shot I never really gave it all that I’ve got Even though I gave it a shot I never really felt it. Even though I gave it a shot I never really gave it all that I’ve got Even though I gave it a shot I never really felt it. I never really felt it

At the turn of the century Old bucky saw never say nothin’ like me Ill have my turn at the steering wheel You’ll never believe it’s real! Oh…. (underneath the picture table) I still believe in new dolly I still believe in new dolly It’s a brand new century Old becky saw never saws nothing like me As I claw with my table saw I’ll wont stop until the whales make laws I still believe in new dolly I still believe in new dolly As the nation raises up their choice A tiny little rabbit voice Cuts through all the other plans He won’t stop until the whales make land! Oh I won’t believe in anything unless Its fun The page go down, the ink, create another one He makes me nervous when I see that’s hes still around He made it famous, even before they needed sound!

Avalanche! at first glance our paradigms are breaking Avalanche! a hive in the hand (and an end/era in the making) from the sand a message from the sand the hand of man goes through the sand to the paw to the beginnings of man thundering an avalanche! an olive branch take it and try to advance from the sky a message from the sky through the red and from the sky a message from the sky to the face and to the artifacts Thunder and an Avalanche a hive in our hands shake it and see where it lands.

Your mother's a cold fish Your father's an odd duck Make sure you're so very clean Could it be why you're blue don't mention that your abused Even in your sleep The only place out of reach How much does the house your were born in determine Who you are is that an excuse for you To act like you are permanently hurt and Lash out when someone gets close to you Your mothers sister's a flake Your only role model after all You baked it in a very large cake And hid the crumbs under the cabinets Your mothers a plate of clams Your father's got a dead handshake Could I even tell you where I am Would it matter? Along came a snake and you baked it a cake for easter You put the fruit it offered in a pie and 4 and 20 blackbirds were evicted I still hear the song they sang, diane Your grandfather is looking sort of ill I took you behind the funeral home Your sister belongs in a zoo After all the aping she does of you Your dad is bad egg And youre a rotten dish of spoiled christmas ham Make sure the neighbors never see The secret stuffs that boiled in the pan How much does the house your were born in determine Who you are is that an excuse for you To act like you are permanently hurt and Lash out when someone gets close to you Along came a snake and you baked it a cake for easter You put the fruit it offered in a pie and 4 and 20 blackbirds were evicted I still hear the song they sang, diane

He wants to walk But he wanted to crawl Take all you want But drink it all No time to talk Just to dance and sing His head in a carpet It ends in with a ring It’s a pub crawl. Oh It’s a pub crawl. Oh He wanted to go More than you know He wants to atone For hell, i don’t know It's been a day More than a week Since he promised That we won’t speak It’s a pub crawl. Oh It’s a pub crawl. Oh So we agreed Not to come back again there’s safety in numbers if you reach the end She needed a night To wash over the day But she was sort of uptight Why? She wouldn’t say Another pub crawl Another October She put up a wall He wanted it over I feel the world I feel the sea I felt the breeze I fell asleep It’s a pub crawl. Oh It’s a pub crawl. Oh It’s a pub crawl. Oh It’s a pub crawl. Oh You only learn to walk once, and that day is over your father took a video on his new camcorder you can’t go back to the car seat, or ride in the stroller You paid for their whole table just so they won’t deport her It’s a pub crawl. Oh He wants to walk But he wanted to crawl Take all you want But drink it all It’s a pub crawl. Oh

Remember back in ‘94 When we all came get together We were doing all we could to keep it together Everybody everybody was doing their time And everybody everybody everybody was standing in line Remember back in William Penn when we didn’t give a damn Every body everybody else was making’ plans Walking on the Graves of our state without making a dime Everybody everybody else was still looking to shine Meanwhile in present day, we still don’t give a damn Every single day of our live an hourglass without sand Everyone recalling the days when they was lost in the time Imprisoned by the strangers we are. Locked away in our minds Lightning don’t strike twice on the 409 Lighting don’t strike twice when you’re borderline it’s a distant shore but we forget how we’ve had to submit and we regret the crimes we'd commit then settle down and that settled it

The world that I once knew is gone and so are you The wheels are off the wagon Every thing that you fought for. Doesn’t matter anymore There’s just scales now, no more dragons It takes fight to breath fire It takes an artist and an advertiser Roll on you wounded tiger It takes flight flight to inspire All the women you ever loved occupy the stars above There’s no one left to tend the cabin It takes fight to breath fire The artist is an advertiser Roll on you wounded tiger It takes flight flight to inspire It’s been a rough weary road, you said For 12 years you keeping’ down your head You’re not sure if there’s anybody left But you’re movin’ fast, you movin’ hard, the past is breathin' down your neck It takes fight to fight an empire

The weight of the world is too much for me The weight of the world is too much for me I can see it take me and shake me and break me over it's knee The weight of the world is too much for me The strength of these dogs is too much to bear The strength of these dogs is too much to bear I can stand at the top and then stop and bark how it isn't fair The strength of these dogs is too much to bear The weight of the world is too much for me The weight of the world is too much for me I can see it take me and shake me and break me over it's knee The weight of the world is too much for me

The night was dark but her smile was light Let's go somewhere , she said that we might Or we could might stay dancing right here all night The way she turned turned the music up right We sang oh This night wont stop til were through with it And no one here looks ready to quit Raise your hand if you think I'm right And this beat moves our bodies all right The dress she wore was a little to tight A laughed and said i was being uptight I almost drown in her swimming eyes And it seems like we have been dancing all night The colors dance at the edge our sight And there's never been a night like tonight Raise both your hand if you can agree And if you don't you left too early As we sang
