Turn turn
The Cherry Moon is full
Appolonia radioed to Mission Control
She was looking for Prince
Is this as good as it gets?
We used to howl at each other
Now we just howl at this
Burn Burn your wedding gown
And I promise to burn the whole church down
I only smoke when I drink
And I think this is as good a reason as any
Henny Penny
Did she want a car or a ring?
I hear she's into fast things
Burning bridges and rubber
Like we were made for each other
So let's have dinner at your place
Catering done by what's-her-face
Who'd she thank during grace?
Burn Burn your wedding gown
And I promise to burn the whole church down
I only when I'm right
And this might be as good a reason as any
Henny Penny
I got the Devil in my pocket
Holding on to a gun
Got 'em in the Styx
He says 666
He's not in the business
Of making women his business
So peel back covers
I was born to be lover
Burn Burn your wedding gown
And I promise to burn the whole church down
I only swear when I'm there
And I swear this is as good a reason as any
Henny Penny
I'm the captain of a starship
Headed into the Sun
It didn't take us long
To realize you were The One
Is this as wet as she gets?
She's Mariana's Trench
She came and she went
Burn Burn your wedding gown
And I promise to burn the whole church down
I haven't been high in a while
And you smile, this is as good a reason as any
Henny Penny
As the storm parities get started
Can I crash at your apartment?
When the sky is falling
The very notion appalling
The Japanese have a word for this
Feeling of clear-headedness
Somewhere between shame and bliss
Tell me, which one is this?
Burn Burn your wedding gown
And I promise to burn the whole church down
I only feel bad when I come and I'm done
Thinkin' it's a good a reason as any
Henny Penny

That. That was my worst day ever. I think a normal person would have been crushed. I really liked Prince. I stopped listening to him, mostly. But—I remember when I was working in Philadelphia—I'd listen to him for inspiration. That time I threw my cowboy hat at that homeless guy... Other stuff too... My first concert... We used to play Purple Rain until Dave got sick of it. “Ever since you started listening to Prince,” he said. “You think you are Prince.” Wrong! I thought I was the next Prince. That was also the day I lost my job. I had been saying I wanted to leave for a while, then they gave me a reason to. I went to work, I was ready to tell everybody what happened to Prince.. and they... they asked for my key and told me to leave. I worked there for 4 years. What was their reason? They said they were afraid for me. I was sick. They meant they were afraid of me. They said if I wanted to come back to work I'd have to.... talk to their doctors. Now let me ask you this, if they were really worried about me, why would they give me a reason for them to be worried? And. And on the day I was supposed to talk about Prince. That was the worst day of my life. But, it's okay. Now I am dedicating my life to being Prince. I'm going to New York. Where all the critics love you.

Man can love
And man can walk
They call him God
That's natural
There is nothing you can to
You climb and fall
And Grind and fly
For the world and that's a lie
There is nothing I can do
We can run
Let's have fun
With lighter things and this is love
There is nothing we can do
Become again
With our friends
Still a turn, a calming breath
There is nothing I can do
Don't hold you breath for a miracle
Don't hold you breath for a miracle
Don't hold you breath for a miracle
Don't hold you breath for a miracle
He is steering
The boy is sneering
I thought of nothing when I caught her stealing
You were all the same for me
A breaking sky
"Burn it", I said
A piece remains but only in a dream
You were all the same to me
Who can blame me?
Sometimes I need my rest
I hold my breath and spread my legs
And wait for God to take me
I want them both
I want them both
I want them both
I want them both
I want them both
I want them both
I want them both
I want the most luck
I hold my breath for a miracle
I hold my breath for a miracle
I hold my breath for a miracle
I hold my breath for a miracle

I thought of you and said
"Damn, I really loved that girl"
But the truth is I loved them all
Not any of them less or more than any other
And, man there were some for sure
So since I can't afford to go anywhere new
I close my eyes and witness all I say in you
Even the ones I barely knew and only briefly
I'm a man and I loved you all deeply
Now I want to slap you and choke you
And put an end to this war
I'll let you get the upper hand
Hit me hard once
And tell me that you love hardcore
You said you wanted to drive to Wildwood
Pick up a t-shirt on the boardwalk
Come home, have clumsy sex
That neither of us would really enjoy
I never got to take you to prom
I'll cover your heels
I'm a dark currant still
So let's get together again
And write an album about the Revolutionary War
And how I'd never listen to The Swirlies
And how you thought it was neato
That we almost met Chris Candido
Either I'm wasting my life of my life is a waste
I like to touch and I like the taste
I wanted to see what the kids from Narnia looked like today
You toss the bait
I'll colour your heels
I'm a darn currant still
I had to leave that morning
I had a job I had to to
We watched cartoons under a New Castle moon
"You caught me smoking," she said
And told me that I always knew
Without ridicule
Every song write to you will be the formula
And sneaking out at night with Sonya Bright
Witchcraft, drink or work myself to death
To the end of Summer movies
There's so many things I've done
That I didn't want to learn what they like
The lucky ones can sleep at night
She hates it when I talk about you
But I have to say something
Everybody's waiting
So now they all want to know why I left the way I did
That's a boring question
Let's talk about the weather
Or how she cried even though she kissed me back
Irish, Toss the feathers
I'll colour your heels
I'm a darn currant still
I'll colour your heels
I'm a darn currant still

Every thing I love I left behind
I wonder if when Jon he left he had it right
I used to say up listening to The Smiths
Now I'm lucky remember who that is
You're the apple of my eye
But you're rotten to the core
Is this all there is or do you want more?
Is there nothing that can get me back on track?
God, how I wish I had it back
There's nothing left for me here but I stay
I've been looking a train to light my way
I'm sorry I forgot you for so long
There's nothing here that got put back where it belongs
You're the apple of my eye
But you're rotten to the core
Is this all there is or do you want more?
Is there nothing that can get me back on track?
You're the apple of my eye
But you're rotten to the core
Another night like this and I hap out the door
Is there no one that remembers me from before
You said you'd wait for me all night
There's nothing left to keep me in this spot
I already gave it more than all I got
How did I fool myself that this was my destiny?
Sometimes I'm not even sure that it was me
Oh I'm rotten to the core
But the apple of your eye
Is this where I live or where I came to die?
Is there no one here who can get me back on track
God, how I wish that I had it back
Those days have faded into black.

This is the shortest way
Is the atmosphere on fire?
There's too much haze
The ghosts of outer-space
Just floating light as air
They're out of phase
Under duress and under dressed
It's okay
Under duress and under dressed
But, it's okay
The captain lost control
Of his sinking sailing ship
And we slip
We can't save our souls
And the forecastle is split
So we quit struggling
Under duress and under dressed
It's okay
Under duress and under dressed
We've lost our way
It's okay
Under duress and under dressed
It's okay
Under duress and under dressed
But, it's okay

Hollywood

What has Hollywood don to you, my love?
Nothing you don't want it to
We are all broke out here, sweetheart
Don't make excuses for me
And I won't go accusing po' you
Are you happy with who you are?
Are you happy with who you've become?
You were a gangster when you were 12
And a pilot at 21
You never know you really are
But you got a job and you're doing all right
This shit ain't easy
But you're moving easy
Moving East to fight
What has Hollywood don to you, my love?
Nothing you don't want it to
We are in charge of our destinies
Don't make excuses for me
And I won't go accusing po' you
Your country house is rustic
But you'll never learn when to trust it
How long before you lose it?
It's a nice life but you'd never choose it
You're about to hit the wall
You're an engine prone to stall
Exactly where I needed to be
You're a mystery to me
Don't let me lose the child, boy
Just put down the guitar
You're exactly what you are
A far, far away star
What has Hollywood don to you, my love?
Nothing you don't want it to
We are charging the streets tonight
Don't make excuses for me
And I won't go accusing po' you

Crown Point
Black powder
Cedar Point
Gorilla opera
Staring at the lights in the bathroom at the bar
Floaters in the shape of Independence Mall
I bought some oranges and threw them away
I used the crate to build an amp
Independence Day with BBQ Fight
The Disney Channel, Nick At Nite
Ten Year On Autopilot
Four more to get it right
You're were clinging on to me
You were static, I'm electric
Two million women protest the election
Maybe someday sons of bitches will pay
Ethan Allen was a prick
Uses me to call in sick
She said, "Don't touch me when you come
You don't get to do that any more
You lost the privilege"
I said, "one more"
We made out to The Head on the Door
Uh, with every day that passes I'm just sticking to the basics
Sippin', gettin' wasted
Living in The Matrix
Came a long way from gettin' busy in the basement
Paid a lot dues and now I'm sick of being patient
But that's in the past and I don't wish I could erase
Cause when I make it happen, man they really gonna hate
My homie said it ain't gonna last forever so embrace it
But I don't got dough to waste at least until I know we made it
So um, never really focused on the past
Rarely show emotion, wouldn't know it if I'm mad
Everything is subtle, wouldn't know it if I brag
Cause I don't need everybody knowin' what I have
They say they make rules just to break fools
Life is like a game of chess you gotta make moves
Everybody for themselves, man I hate dudes
Gotta crawl before we walk so we pay dues
Is my body still familiar to you?
Did you fuck an alien then get a Starman tattoo?
Ambien and lemon, you take off your dress
The girls in tight skirts, the men impressed
Vacant, cat suits, black roots, default positions
Lacquered, liquored, black boots, a split decision
She spent all her time showing pussy online
At little of that is normal
But that much is a waste of time

Kinky Curves
06:17
|
|||
Say a prayer for the mentally ill
Sorority girls up on Spruce Hill
The only one that ever made my heart rush
A whiskey bloom in the Laurel brush
A worn out patch that's marking the ground where we lay
Spring-heeled Jack in a jacket that's made of suede
I told you that no one is safe in space
A flamethrower, you're taking my breath away.
I brushed your cheek with Electric blue paint
Our souls are resistors, the currents alternate
I was shocked when you pushed me away
Kinky curves made to stimulate
That's great
A worn out patch that's marking the ground where we lay
Spring-heeled Jack in a jacket that's made of suede
I told you that no one is safe in space
A flamethrower, you're taking my breath away.
You laughed at me when we made out in my car
It was a riot that I got that far
You begged to marry but you were kinda loose
Maybe you were, maybe it's an excuse
How cute
A worn out patch that's marking the ground where we lay
Spring-heeled Jack in a jacket that's made of suede
I told you that no one is safe in space
A neutron star already so far away

Wires Xed

At least I know that I’m broken
I don't have to start again
To find the cause of the leak
If only you saw this in me
Before you had the balls to leave
Could have saved a lot of grief
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
I wrote the code that set it off
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
The memory is corrupt and in failing
Picture this, the Ace of Darts
Crazy 8's and jagged Hearts
He lost his chart, it washed away
The books I have will stay unread
Another course shipwrecked in bed
There’s nothing left I haven’t said
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
I see the switch but can't switch it off
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
The memory is corrupt and in fading
From now on this is my cross
buried gold, a nest of wasps
If only I could shut it off
A treasure trove in a Dragon’s Lair
Lost in a thousand yard stare
I’d be angry but I don’t care
there’s nothing here.
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
I see the switch, but I can’t shut it off
I know the machine has wires crossed
The ghost in the machine is it’s own boss
The memory is lost
System's failing

Remember when it was new?
You pushed my brush
Paint your face blue
Remember when
Before I played it up
Before David said he'd had enough?
It's a scheme long forgotten
The more we dream we got then
It took a long time to stop them
A mustard seed, we fought a lot then
Remember when you had enough?
You had enough
You had enough
You had enough
Remember that?
Well, mine aren't sharp
We had troubled minds
Dangerous hearts
Remember when it was so hot upstairs?
You were starting to sweat
I was starting to stare
He wanted to marry Pollyanna
Rhapsody In Blue on piano
I have a deal if you could stand to
Go home with me when you didn't plan to
Remember when you had enough?
You had enough
You had enough
You had enough
