i'm like no other i'm like no other shadow man Dim lights on clay mirrors It couldn’t be clearer who I am take me hand welcome to, welcome to the shadow house There’s room for one more on the main floor of the shadow house How does it feel? when a ghost appears do you confess? “if you want to do it then force me to it and nothing less,” Charlotte says welcome to, welcome to the shadow house There’s room for one more on the main floor of the shadow house

I changed the past here's what came of it this can't go on and it won't The united states of bad poetry Words are for people Who don't know when to retreat One more year of my life is wasted There’s one question that I’ll pose When will I ever stop stepping on toes? oh nobody knows I wish I was a holy person A drunk god of forgotten things Like this painting of a dead tree representing memories Forever looming over me I hate the sound of talking people Dry tone cool and dull All the light stops short of a ray I didn't know what to say Why is she asking me anyway? What does the false heart know? What does the false heart know? What does the false heart know? Does it know you ever love me? What's it to you if I come home early You know you're making an awful mistake She said, "you always say that" I said I'll love you til the day that I die, this is proof it wasn't a lie What does the false heart know? What does the false heart know? Open and Free Among The reflections that dance o n me What does the false heart know? What does the false heart know? Open and Free Among the reflections and you can’t be connected

Hello, hello, hello, hello Hello is all it took You say you should have known better But you didn’t have to look Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye Goodbye I never heard you always knew what this was, she said. And you never said a word Nobody wants to be alone with you But you’ll do anything that they tell you to do For a week or two Hello, Hello, Hello she said Standing outside the door She said one rule, tonight never happened I’ve heard that one before Nobody wants to be alone with you But you’ll do anything that they tell you to do For a week or two Nobody wants to be alone with you But you love anybody who pays attention to you For a week or two

In The Weeds 01:58
At the school for the deaf, Come watch the church bell’s ring. This much is true, I’ll love you ‘til I don’t As time goes on, you’ll see the cracks that appear The coast is clear your ghost can reappear Bury me Underneath In the weeds You're impossible Bury me Underneath In the weeds And stop ignoring me
5.
Binary Star 01:57
A binary star so close but too far In locked orbit with each other’s star Gravity bound But Never in touch He should have loved her harder but, like everything love must end like everything love must end A single sun, can be eclipsed And the solar drifts I’ve seen it happen I’m serious And then the next day The cosmic dance begins again Why do people change? But nature still remains but, like everything love must end like everything love must end In the dark of space, you watch the chase from here it looks small Just a blink and that’s all They got too close And then they lost touch The runaway star Watched it happen from afar A near miss in the abyss But I'm doing fine

Liason 02:46
So, it's not just for one of us what's all the fuss my captor? was it just her skin, her face, her soul, you're sign he's after? he doesn't care where she gonna go Ask her if she still keeps all her kings in the back row. (chorus no vocals) So it's not just a guy thing, or my thing go out and die thing and when it's not ending, it's not worth spending your time on You're stuck between a jinx and a lie love or a felony I don’t have other places to go, or other people to see ex marks the spot remind me not I have been caught and we fought a lot forget me please I'm underneath Remember me For who I tried to be ex marks the spot remind me not I have been caught and we fought a lot forget me please I'm underneath Remember me For who I tried to be

You made me think that I mattered But now you’re just a fading memory I was just a rung on the ladder And he’s just a second rate me You made my tired heart shatter when I found you with somebody else Now I am as mad as a hatter I found you with somebody else and now is not a good time to ask twenty questions I don't have time to play in dark times like these and now is not a good time to put me on a pedestal I don't have time to be subtle. You think that you found your twin flame A concept by another false Prophet I knew you before you changed your name We met in the year of the comet and now is not a good time to ask 20 questions I don't play games in times like these and now is not a good time to put me on a pedestal I don't have time to be seen and nobody's horses and nobody's men could ever put us back together again.

The bed is soft but the floor is quiet Biting your hand barely helps muffle the sound You looked surprised to be laying flat on the ground You laughed hard and said you took advantage I told you that it was a privilege to see Honestly you were just thirteen days older than me You’re a shadow operator Giving in in the lantern light you’re a shadow operator Now I might do mostly what you do The moon is full, but your clothes are empty The truth is that you didn't have to tempt me at all I was yours from the fifth day in november and on You’re a shadow operator Giving in in the lantern light Y ou’re shadow operator Now I might do mostly what you do We were shadow operators Casting doubt in the dusky night We were shadow operators The day has been lasting far too long
9.
Time passed so fast It’s hard to believe You don’t even miss me in my own dreams Cerulean blue In a world that’s gone grey It’s like the first time I said your name hey Tell me was its something I said Did you ever get me out of your head? Cerulean blue In a world that’s gone grey Very calming very tranquil Cerulean blue Now there’s nothing to say It’s like the last time I ever heard your name
10.
When will she belong to me I don't belong at all When will shet dawn on me I can’t be seen at all When will she dog me? I stop all those invited And I dance them into 3 It’s written on the invitation Come witness a tragedy Why does she turn me on? When she turns on me When will she dog me?.... Yeah I ask all those at the party And I bounce them on my knee 1, 2 ,3 You’re my initial addiction You were a drug to me When will she return to me? I’ve been here so long When will she dissolve into me? I stop them leaving the party And I "Give them kisses one two three" Its a sign of affection Another one two three

about

The October 2022 third album from The Dollar Movies, Delaware post-punk alternative band. The surprise follow up to April 2022's "Dead Millionaires". The Dollar Movies contains members of Year of the Comet and My Version of It.

All of the songs (save "Shadow Operator") were written between 1993-1996 including two lost/incomplete songs.

The lost songs ("Cerulean Blue" and "In The Weeds") were completed using the original chord progressions and melodies. Lyrics were culled from old period lyric notebooks from the 10x Records archives.

"The False Heart" was originally an instrumental piece. New lyrics were written based on the aforementioned notebooks dating from 1992-1993.

"Electricity" was originally released as a song by Nunc Dimittis. The original 1996 demo was released on the 10x compilation "The Best of the Strand"

"Shadow Operator" was written by Year of the Comet and is previously unreleased.
